Kuala Lumpur: Several other UMNO MPs have claimed they will support Machang Member of Parliament, Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub, who withdrew support for the National Alliance government (PN).
UMNO Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman admitted that he had heard about the matter but there was no confirmation on the identity of the elected representative involved.
He said Ahmad Jazlan’s actions were the trigger for the change in UMNO MPs.
However, he said, the action was not the decision of the party, but the decision of his individual.
On Saturday, Ahmad Jazlan at a press conference in Kota Bharu announced his withdrawal of support for the PN government.
The stand of Ahmad Jazlan who is also the Kelantan UMNO Liaison Chairman, saw the PN government currently have the support of 110 out of 220 MPs in Dewan Rakyat.
