Kuala Lumpur: Former Prime Minister Najib Razak has urged people to calm down over the controversial tweet posted by Dr Mahathir Mohamad. Adding that everyone should read the full statement.
Najib, defending Dr Mahathir, stated that he did not mean exactly what he said, and even if he did, it was his personal opinion.
However, he said someone should remove Dr M’s all social media account before he does more damage.
Yesterday, Dr M tweeted that Muslims have a right to be angry and kill french people for past incidents. His tweet was in reply to a knife attack at a church in Nice, France, where three people were killed and others injured.
His tweet was followed by similar tweets, in which he added that Muslims have not applied eye-to-eye rules, and neither should the French.
Twitter later removed his tweet, claiming that violating its rules.
