Kuala Lumpur: Three individuals of a family were killed in a tragic fire, which destroyed a three-storey shophouse at Jalan Kampar Barat 3, today.
The state’s Zone 1 Fire and Rescue Department head, Nor Rasidamayati Abd Rasid said the department received an emergency call at about 10 am, before deploying firefighters to the scene.
A team from the Kampar Fire and Rescue station rushed to the location, where they found three dead bodies after putting out the fire.
She said a woman, believed to be a nurse aged 35-year-old and two children, a boy aged 7, and a girl aged 12, was found dead on a bed.
The victims, who suffered serious burns, was pronounced dead at the scene and was later taken to Kampar Hospital for post-mortem.
Firemen are still conducting investigations at the scene,” she said.
