Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik did not allow both the Indonesian southpaws to dominate in the game since the beginning of the match. Chia and Wooi Yik both were in aggressive mode from start to end of the game as a part of their strategy.
The first lead came in just 13 minutes for Malaysia while the second set finished in 21 minutes without making any mistakes and fixed its spot in the next round, semi-final, in the game.
It was the first time when Malaysian players win over World No. 1 shuttler due.
Aaron-Wooi Yik will meet either Denmark’s Kim Astrup-Anders Skaarup Rasmussen and China’s Li Junhui-Liu Yuchen on Friday (30 July) for the semi-final round.
