The police in Kuala Lumpur have apprehended two men who are believed to have assaulted two eatery workers after experiencing delays with their orders. The incident occurred at a restaurant on Jalan Perhentian Haji Salleh. The suspects initially scolded and physically attacked the workers using a broom around 6 am, as their order was not promptly prepared due to the restaurant’s recent opening.
Later, one of the men returned with a friend at 8:30 am. They again verbally abused the workers and proceeded to damage the restaurant’s equipment, resulting in estimated losses of approximately RM12,000. Following a distress call to the MERS 999 emergency line, the police responded swiftly, leading to the arrest of the two suspects at a nearby stall. Law enforcement also confiscated a cota and a helmet believed to have been involved in the assault.
Investigations revealed that one of the suspects had a history of nine prior criminal records. The suspects are set to face court proceedings for remand under Sections 324 and 427 of the Penal Code. Section 324 pertains to voluntarily causing hurt using a dangerous weapon or means, while Section 427 deals with committing mischief and causing damage to property.
