Mohd Bakri said in his statement that it was his own decision and he was not all influenced by others. During the press conference, he says that already welcomed UMNO President Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s decision to leave Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.

Eversince the UMNO announced to withdraw its support for PM Muhyiddin, several ministers —- including Minister of Higher Education Noraini Ahmad and Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Shamsul Anuar Nasarah — have resigned from their position.

The high voltage political drama in Malaysia began last week on 3 August when Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, UMNO President, announced withdrawal party support from the PN, claiming that government has lost its majority in parliament.
