Water Disruption In Klang Valley, Over Million Accounts Affected

Kuala Lumpur: Up to 1.2 million water account holders in the Klang Valley and Selangor will experience dry taps as a result of suspected pollution at Sungai Selangor.

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd said an ordered had been issued for Phase 1, 2, 3 and Rantau Panjang watee treatment plants work to stop due to contamination that was detected in Sungai Selangor this morning at 2.00 am.

The water cut will affect 1,196,457 account holders located at 1,292 areas in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling, Klang/Shah Alam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Kuala Langat.

While this water contamination was detected, work on another water disruption following a rupture in water pipe was in progress but the water cut, which involve the same plant means that the water will not be restored in the said timeline.

Air Selangor is providing water trucks in the affected areas, while those in emergency situations can dail 15300.
