Kuala Lumpur: Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said the government would immediately implement the proposal for the Social Welfare Department’s monthly aid of between RM200 and RM300 for needy people to be raised to RM1,000.
He assured that under the government’s vigilance, eligible recipients of the assistance will have the same opportunities to live their lives like any other members of the society.
In his Facebook post, he said that disabled people will be included and be benefited from this increase which was taken into consideration because of the current economic situation and cost of living.
Earlier in August, Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin suggested that the Social Welfare Department’s monthly aid of between RM200 and RM300 for needy people be raised to RM1,000.
He further added that the Perikatan Nasional government was determined to continue with efforts to help the B40 group.
