Noted academician Lim Kok Wing passed away today at the age of 75. He was suffering from prolonged illness. However, the exact cause of his death is yet to be known. Lim Kok Wing is best known as the founder of the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology. However, there is more to his life – he was an artist, designer, author, entrepreneur, educationist and philanthropist too. He was officially recognised by the Malaysian government as the Father of Innovation in Creative Education.

Lim Kok Wing had worked with leaders of Malaysia to empower Malaysians, building human capability, rebranding the country, promoting peace and harmony.

Lim’s university had its Foundation and University campuses across Asia, Africa and Europe. He was active in at least 165 countries and territories.

Lim Kok Wing had started his career as an illustrator, designing covers for books. Lim kok wing’s first major milestone came when his comic strip were published in Eastern Sun newspaper.

Later, in 1975, he started the first professional Malaysian advertising agency – Wings Creative Consultants. And then, there was no looking back.

Wing, who had started the agency at the age of 29, became one of the top 10 leading agencies in the country within three years of inception.

He started his work in the education industry in 2002. He is best know for his work in Africa.

The Universities he has established are recognised as Universities of Transformation in Africa and accorded Global TVET Leadership for Economic Transformation by ASIC and IVET, UK AND Tan Sri Limkokwing is appointed TVET International President.
