Kuala Lumpur: UMNO president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and party secretary-general Ahmad Maslan said that the party will never work with DAP, Anwar Ibrahim or Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Both have taken to Twitter to express their support by its Supreme Council’s decision to strengthen their political cooperation with Barisan Nasional to secure Muafakat Nasional.
They tweeted that the party will not work with any leader who is with DAP. While, Zahid retweeted a post of 7 August, that depicted a handshake between UMNO and PAS.
This came after the rumours of Zahid allegedly sending a letter to the palace, stating its support for Anwar to be the next Prime Minister.
Earlier, on 13 October, Anwar had a royal audience with Yang di-Pertuan Agong, in which he presented him that he has the numbers to form a new government.
