Record Rise In ICU Coronavirus Cases: Health DG Noor Hisham Abdullah

There are 506 patients who are in ICUs due to Covid or Covid-like complications, Health DG Noor Hisham Abdullah informed today. Another 295 patients are on ventilator support. The new data shared by Health DG include those who have not tested positive for Covid, but have same health complications.

Health DG Noor Hisham Abdullah today said that Coronavirus cases in ICU wards have risen to 506 in the past few weeks, a record high. There are another 295 patients who need ventilators to breathe, he added.

The new numbers include “confirmed”, “probable” and “suspected” Covid-19 patients in intensive care.

The data shared this time is a bit different, it includes the probable and suspected cases too, these are patients that are having same health complications as confirmed coronavirus patients.

“Throughout the country, critical case admissions to intensive care units have increased by 44 percent compared to the previous two weeks. Some states such as Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Kelantan and Sarawak have a higher rate,” Mr Abdullah said.
