Malaysian actor and director Farid Kamil Zahari who was ordered to face jail time for 13 months, got his sentence reduced to RM5,500 fine after an appeal. Three years ago, he was charged for using criminal force and disorderly conduct in the police station, after he was found guilty of both the offences.
However, according to reports, his 13-month jail time for both the offences has been substituted for RM5,500 fine. Judicial Commissioner Nurulhuda Nuraini Mohamad Nor allowed his appeal to set aside jail term.

Nurulhuda made the decision considering that Farid has extended his apology and has regretted his action, while he has already paid the compensation in the form of compound to both the individuals, including the policemen who got hurt.
His 13-month jail term was changed to RM5,000 fine and the four-month jail term was changed to RM500 fine.Â
While Farid, who was represented by Kee Wei Lon and Low Wei Loke, has already paid the fine. He was supposed to be serving his jail term but was out on RM10,000 bail waiting for his appeal to be accepted.
