K-pop girl group BLACKPINK has requested their supporters not to send them gifts, but instead, help those in need as a sign to express their love for the band. The group’s agency, YG Entertainment, on Tuesday, issued an official statement, saying that the K-pop group will no longer accept the gifts, except the fans letters.

This comes after the group received “overwhelming congratulatory gifts” from fans on their 5th anniversary in the industry on August 8. According to the official statement, from now on the group will respectfully decline all the presents addressed to them to celebrate their special events like birthdays, anniversaries or debuts.Â
The agency said that the girl group will only accept fan letters sent to them at the address specified by the label. They further stated that once their letters arrive, the agency will notify them.
BLACKPINK has urged their fans to help those in need to show their love and support towards them. “We would be grateful if instead of sending them gifts and support to celebrate their special days, those gifts be sent to others who need it more,” the statement added.
