Lizzo Breaks Down On Instagram Live Over Racist And Fatphobic Comments

“Truth Hurts” musician Lizzo, in a couragious act, took to Instagram Live to respond to the haters’ racist comments. In a 12-minute video, she revealed how all the “racist” and “fat-phobic” comments hurt her.

The American singer has made a musical comeback after a two year break, with her single titled “Rumors”, in collaboration with Cardi B.

However, the celebration was short-lived, as the singer opened up about the hurtful comments she received after the release of her new track. Calling out the haters, she said the comments were “fat-phobic,” “racist” and “hurtful.”

The Grammy-award winner singer, in her music video, is itself addressing the haters with lyrics saying “Why you spending all your time trying to break a woman down?” she said, as she ignores such negativity, but receiving such racist comments after working so hard for the music video is what seemed to have heard the singer.

In the end, however, she gathered herself to deliver the message that music is not meant to appease a certain demographic. Her collaborator Cardi B supported her by describing the haters as “nerds looking at the popular table” on Twitter.

Meanwhile, celebrities like Jameela Jamil, Bella Porch and Chloe Bailey also took to Twitter to show their support for Lizzo.
