Indian actor and Telugu superstar Nagarjuna has expressed his deep regret following his son Naga Chaitanya’s divorce from Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Calling their divorce an ‘unfortunate’ development, Nagarjuna said it was a couple’s personal matter. “Sam and Chay, both are dear to me,” he wrote on social media. Naga Chaitanya, who is Nagarjuna’s son with his first wife, had announced his separation this week from Samantha after 4 years of marriage.

Wishing both of them good luck in future, the 62 years old Telugu superstar wrote on social media, “With a heavy heart let me say this! Whatever happened between Sam and Cha is very unfortunate. What happens between a wife and husband is very personal. Sam and Chay both are dear to me. My family will always cherish the moments spent with Sam and she will always be dear to us!”
People started speculating about the separation of Sam and Chay after Samantha dropped her surname—Akkineni, from her social media accounts.
After months of speculation, Naga Chaitanya and Samantha took to their respective social media handles to announce their divorce. The two parted ways after four years of marriage and many years of dating. Social media posts stated that they have decided to separate as husband and wife to pursue their own paths.
Though the divorce talks were making rounds on social media, the official announcement came as a shock to the fans. “I am shocked. They are my favorite couple. I do not want them to get separated,” a fan wrote.
Both were married in 2017 in Goa.
