‘Sex and the City’ star Willie Garson has passed away at the age of 57. According to reports, he died after a short illness on Tuesday afternoon. His son Nathen Garson and actor Titus Welliver were among the first to announce the devastating news on social media.

Garson had been suffering from pancreatic cancer, however, according to doctor’s that is not the cause for his death. He played Stanford Blatch, the best friend of Carrie Bradshaw, in HBO’s Sex and the City and its spinoff movies. He is also appearing in the upcoming reboot, And Just Like That.
His son Nathen broke the news on Instagram and said “Love you more than you will ever know and I’m glad you can be at peace now. You always were the toughest and funniest and smartest person I’ve known.”
The ‘Sex and the City’ family paid tribute to their friend. Mario Cantone, his on-screen partner in the movie, said, “I couldn’t have had a more brilliant TV partner. “I’m devastated and overwhelmed with sadness. Rest my sweet friend. I love you,” he tweeted.
