Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has expressed his readiness to address questions concerning Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s discharge in parliament. During a media briefing at Kompleks Nasyrul Quran, Anwar briefly stated, “Maybe, InsyaAllah (If God wills it).” This statement emerged as Anwar supervised the dispatch of 30,000 Al-Quran copies translated into English and Chinese to destinations including Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom. This initiative is part of Malaysia’s broader effort to distribute one million translated Al-Quran copies worldwide, particularly in the West, aiming to counter Islamophobia and misconceptions about the Al-Quran and Islam following recent incidents of Al-Quran burning. Meanwhile, government backbencher Hassan Abdul Karim (PH-Pasir Gudang) has called for Anwar to address queries regarding Zahid’s DNAA in the Dewan Rakyat, emphasizing the importance of allowing parliamentary questions on this matter.

In the midst of these developments, Hassan Abdul Karim, a government backbencher representing PH-Pasir Gudang, has urged Anwar to address queries regarding the discharge not amounting to acquittal (DNAA) granted to Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi during parliamentary sessions. Hassan emphasized that members of both sides of the Dewan Rakyat have consistently raised questions about this issue, both within and outside the August House. He underscored the importance of permitting members of parliament to seek answers regarding the DNAA during the Prime Minister’s Question Time (PMQT).
