SRC Conviction: Court To Hear Najib’s Appeal From 5 April

The Court of Appeal has announced the new date to hear former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s appeal against his conviction and jail sentence for allegedly misappropriating RM42 million of SRC International Sdn Bhd funds. The court will start hearing Najib’s appeal from 5 April.

One of Najib Muhammad’s lawyers Farhan Muhammad Shafee in sending a text message on whatsapp said that the new hearing date for 12 days is now set from 5 to 8 April, 12 to 15 April and 19 to 22 April.

Meanwhile, both the defense and the prosecution on February 8 will receive amended appeal records and they will have to file their respective arguments by March 1 and answer arguments by March 19, according to sources.

Subsequent case management for the appeal is set for February 22.

The case management date was set yesterday before the deputy registrars of the Court of Appeal Darmafikri Abu Adam and N. Kanageswari and continues today, to set a hearing date and file an argument.
