Jakarta: An Indonesian passenger plane, carrying 55 members, has been missing minutes after taking off from capital Jakarta. According to reports, Sriwijaya Air plane lost control on Saturday en route to Pontianak in West Kalimantan province.
The company said in a statement that it is still gathering the information and trying to find the location of the plane, where it had gone missing.
Flight Radar 24, Track air traffic in real-time from all around the world, has tweeted that Sriwijaya Air flight #SJ182 lost more than 10.000 feet of altitude in less than one minute, about 4 minutes after departure from Jakarta.
According to reports, The aircraft is a 27-year-old Boeing 737-500, according to registration details included in the tracking data.
