PM Anwar Urges Government Departments to Streamline Guest Arrivals for Enhanced Productivity

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has issued a directive to government departments, calling for a more efficient approach to managing guest arrivals at official programs. He emphasized the importance of not requesting guests to arrive excessively early, as it can disrupt national productivity.

Anwar expressed concern over the one-hour gap between guests’ arrival and the prime minister’s scheduled arrival, citing it as a waste of time. During his keynote address at the Madani Gathering with the Prime Minister, he urged government departments to reconsider their scheduling practices, suggesting a more reasonable 10- to 15-minute buffer before official program commencement.

In addition to addressing time management issues, Prime Minister Anwar underscored the significance of zakat (tithe) payment. He quoted the late scholar Syeikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, who highlighted that nations historically engage in wars not to defend the poor, but to pursue power and wealth. Anwar emphasized that Abu Bakar As-Siddiq, in the name of Islam, once waged a war against those who refused to pay zakat, recognizing its vital role in alleviating poverty and strengthening the Madani economy.

During the program, Anwar also presented the letter of approval for the Ar-Rahmaniah Mosque project in Tronoh and distributed “Kotak Rezeki Ummat” food aid from Myfundaction, along with assistance for eKasih participants.
