KL Cops Seize Syed Saddiq’s Phone Over Custodial Death Post

Maur MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman is in trouble after his phone seized by the Dang Wangi police today. He was summoned by police following his video remarks, claiming the custodial death of A Ganapathy. Sayed Saddiq, who was arrived at the police station today for questioning, said that authorities also took his social media under control.

The move comes days after Syed Saddiq, who is co-founder of Malay United Democratic Alliance (Muda) claimed in a video that a cow milk trader A Ganapathy died in police custody. He uploaded his video on April 29

“I’m not sure if confiscating my phone is legal, but I have left this matter to my lawyer”, Saddiq said after police seized his phone.

“Why do they want to confiscate my phone?”, former youth and sports minister said after coming out to the police station.

In his 45-second video, Saddiq slammed police authorities and said that such kind of brutality was a serious issue and that if such a fate could befall the victims, “it could happen to us”.

A Ganapathi had died on April 8 in a hospital.
