Kuala Lumpur: The crisis for Menteri Besar of Perak state has been resolved after Sultan Nazrin Shah gave consent to Saarani Mohamad as the new MB. Perak Umno chief Datuk Saarani Mohamad will take oath as the new MB of Perak tomorrow at 11 am at Istana Iskandariah, in Kuala Kangsar. Major development comes after PPBM, BN and PAS held a meeting to settle the Perak MB crisis on Wednesday a week after Ahmad Faizal of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) lost a confidence vote in state assembly.Â
Saarani Mohamad, who was born on 13 March 1961, will be sworn in as the 14th Menteri Besar of Perak. He is a long-term politician, who has served as Kota Tampan ADUN for four terms since 2004.
The 59-year-old Saarani has a Diploma in Science and Education (Physics and Mathematics) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). Saarani also has a Human Resources Management degree (OUM).
Saarani, who has eight kids, was also the Lenggong ADUN between 1999 to 2004.
