Former Bersatu Assemblyman Datuk Mohd Izhar Ahmad Joins Parti Amanah, Citing Loss of Confidence in Muhyiddin Yassin: Report

In a significant political move, Datuk Mohd Izhar Ahmad, the former assemblyman for Larkin from Bersatu, officially announced his membership in Parti Amanah. This announcement took place during the Mega Perpaduan Madani ceramah held at Taman Rekreasi Taman Uda Utama, attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Mohd Izhar, who previously held the position of Johor Investment, Entrepreneur Development, Cooperatives, and Human Resources Committee chairman, cited a loss of confidence in Bersatu’s president, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, as his reason for the switch.

This shift in allegiance to Parti Amanah was not an isolated event. On the same night, former Bukit Pasir PAS assemblyman Najib Lep also declared his membership in the Amanah party during a ceramah in Sungai Abong, Muar. Furthermore, Amanah Johor chairman Aminolhuda Hassan had previously announced that two former leaders from PAS and Bersatu, along with more than 200 members from these two parties, would join Parti Amanah through separate programs.

These developments mark a notable transformation in the political landscape of Johor, as key figures and party members realign their affiliations amid changing dynamics in Malaysian politics.
