Women Dies At Unlicensed Salon After Liposuction Surgery

Kuala Lumpur: Two female proprietors were arrested after a bride-to-be died at an unlicensed beauty and makeup salon during liposuction surgery in Cheras. According to reports, the beauty professionals, the mother-daughter duo aged 49 and 23 are arrested under Section 304 A of the Penal Code for causing death by negligence.

Authorities said that the beauty centre was legally registered but did not have a license to perform any liposuction procedure.

Shockingly, the 23-year old victim model named Coco Siew agreed to continue with the procedure even after knowing that Salon doesn’t have a license.

After being inoculated on her arm during the procedure, Coco started facing difficulty inhaling and lost consciousness. The victim was then rushed to the Tuanku Mukhriz Chancellor’s Hospital (HCTM) where she was declared dead.

As the news of the incident spread, the Malaysian Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (MSPRS) issued a statement, warning the public to be conscious of beauty centres selling medical/surgical aesthetic procedures through publications, electronic and social media platforms.
