Online streaming platform YouTube went down on Wednesday night for a few hours. While the website itself still worked perfectly, it was impossible for the viewers to actually play a video, as it got stuck in an infinite loading loop.
However, the issue has been resolved and the platform is running fine now, but the technical fault behind the cause is yet to be revealed.
The YouTube TV premium streaming service was also affected and the users couldn’t use YouTube Music as well. The platform has been facing issues quite often with the site crashing frequently.
As the internet went crazy over the site’s in-functionality YouTube confirmed on Twitter at 7:23 PM ET that something was going on.
“If you’re having trouble watching videos on YouTube right now, you’re not alone – our team is aware of the issue and working on a fix. We’ll follow up here with any updates”
Google’s video service is commendably strong, but this is the second time this year that the site has faced a major issue, until the G Suite outage in August, YouTube doesn’t have a typical server status page to track issues.
