24 Killed In Suicide Bombing Attack At Kabul Educational Centre

Kuala Lumpur: At least 24 people have been killed and dozens were wounded, including students in a suicide bombing attack at an education centre in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul on Saturday.

Interior ministry spokesman Tariq Arian said the bomber was identified and stopped by security guards, however, he detonated his explosives outside the Kawsar-e Danish educational centre.

At least 60 were wounded in the attack, including students aged between 15 and 26.

In a Twitter post, the Taliban denied responsibility for the attack, which came at a time when representatives of the group and government are having a meeting in Qatar to seek a peace deal.

The attack struck outside the Kawsar-e Danish educational centre in the Pul-e-Khoshk area of Dasht-e-Barchi in west Kabul, where country’s majority Shia community resides.

Recently, violence in the area has increased, which has displaced many civilians.
