Bollywood industry – that is the main body of movies made in India – was in for a shock yet again after another top actor committed suicide on Thursday.
Asif Basra, a critically acclaimed actor who has worked in across all generes and had even appeared in Hollywood projects, committed suicide today in Himalyan state of Himachal Pradesh in northern India. He was 53. He was allegedly found hanging at a rented comlex in Himachal Pradesh Macleod Gang.
Further investigation is underway. Bollywood this year has seen so many actors dying due to suicide, including, Sushant Singh Rajput, whose death triggered a an exceptional media coverage after some believed it could have been a murder.
Known for his exceptional acting skills, Asif Basra is remembered for his role in in Anurag Kashyap’s Black Friday and Rahul Dholakia’s Parzania, which received much critical appreciation. He appeared in Michael O. Sajbeland’s One Night with the King with veteran actors like Omar Sharif and Peter O’Toole.
