Kuala Lumpur: World sensational, Korean band BTS on Tuesday secured the first ever Grammy nomination for K-pop band, taking it one step closer to winning the music award, in the best Pop group category with their list topping single “Dynamite”. Since their 2013 debut, the seven-members band has already bagged honours from the Billboard Music Awards, the American Music Awards and the MTV European Music Awards.
Their latest hit “Dynamite” is entirely in English, and had topped the Billboard hot 100 singles chart in September. Its the first time a K-pop group has ever been nominated in a major Grammy category.
To express their excitement, the BTS shared a video on their official Twitter account, where four out of seven members- Jimin, Jungkook, RM and V gathered to read their names for the category. “Above all, ARMYs are the ones who helped this miracle come true – of us getting the Grammy nomination. Thank you always,” BTS said on Twitter.
