Kuala Lumpur: A former politician and his wife were arrested by Kuala Lumpur Police on the charge of allegedly growing marijuana and selling drugs. Police also recovered raw materials of drugs in a huge amount after conducting a raid at his house on 21 January.
According to reports, the local politician, who had contested the 14th General Elections, had been in the drugs business over the past several years. He was arrested by police when he was detected riding a motorcycle in a suspicious condition.
KL Police found 40 bottles containing 400 millimetres (ML) of drug liquid along with RM250 in cash on the suspect during the raid.
Police also managed to seize 1,500 grams of marijuana, cannabis liquid (3,000 ML), chemical liquid, cannabis, a cannabis plant and a BMW car suspected to belong to the suspect.
The suspect has been sent to judicial custody until 27 January.
