Democratic candidate for 2020 US general elections Joe Biden lashed out at President Donald Trump for his diplomacy with North Korean supreme leader Kim Jong Un during the last and second presidential debate on 22 October. Making a joke on Kim Jong Un, Biden denounced that he is a ‘thug’ leader and Trump is his good friend.
Trump, who met Kim Jong Un twice in 2008 and 2009, said that he had a good relationship with North Korean leader that helped to establish peace in the region.
“He’s talked about his good buddy, who’s a thug,” Biden said while comparing Kim’s policies to German dictator Adolf Hitler. That’s like saying we had a good relationship with Hitler before he invaded Europe- the rest of Europe. Come on,” Biden replied.
Trump’s challenger also revealed that he won’t meet Kim Jong Un unless the Korean peninsula becomes a nuclear-free zone.
US President Trump during the debate also mentioned that former President Barack Obama had behind him “a mess” over foreign relations with North Korea and warned him of the peril of “war”.
Joe Biden who was the former vice president under Obama blasted Trump, saying that Obama would not meet Kim because he was pushing stronger sanctions against North Korea.
