In an unprecedented internet outage, the websites of leading media houses of the world, including the Financial Times, the Guardian, the New York Times and Bloomberg News — were confirmed to have gown down today. Separately, Amazon.com, one of the world’s most-accessed web portal, also reported an outage. Nearly 21,000 Reddit users reported issues with the social media platform. The reason of the outage has not been known yet.

Fastly, a global player in cloud computing, is being touted as the reason behind the outage. Fastly, that provides server load to the websites, said it was investigating “the potential impact to performance with our CDN services,” according to its website.
