Iranian Woman Shot 6 Times By Security Forces Over Hijab Mandate

A 20-year-old woman was killed by security forces in Iran at a protest in Karaj. The woman, identified as Hadis Najafi, was reportedly shot six times in the neck, chest, hand and face while she was protesting over the death of Mahsa Amini. Journalist and women’s rights advocate Masih Alinejad announced her death on September 25 and even posted a horrifying video.

Widespread outrage have erupted against the Iranian government after the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini, who was arrested by the country’s police for not correctly wearing “hijab”.

In the video shared by Masih, Najafi was seen tying her hair to join the anti-government protest, when security forces fired six bullets and killed her.

Several videos and images of the protest have gone viral on social media showing the public outrage. Many women have burnt their hijabs and chopped off their hair to express their anger against the government.
