Islamabad: Imran Khan’s government Federal minister Ali Amin Gandapur has made a sexist remark against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice-President Maryam Nawaz. He said that her “beauty” is a result of the several “surgeries she got using taxpayers’ money”.
During his address, a rally in Gilgit-Baltistan’s Shigar, he stated that Maryam has ‘Fixed’ herself spending tens of millions on surgeries during Nawaz Sharif’s two governments.
PML-N’s Rana Sanullah, a close ally to Nawaz Sharif, has slammed the minister and described it as a ‘misogynist’ comment. He said, “A single girl (Maryam) has shaken the entire vote-stealing government”.
It also did not go down well with netizens on social media as they said that it’s a “dirty mentality” from a “rotten system’s rotten minister” and calling him a “disgrace”.
“How do people tolerate Amin Gandapur?” tweeted one Pakistani user, while another tweeted that the minister should be ashamed of himself.”
