Scottish actor Sean Connery, who shot to international fame for his lead role in James Bond movie series, died today. He was 90. The news was made public by the makers of James Bond movie series. “Sir Sean Connery has died at the age of 90. He was the first actor to play James Bond on the big screen in Dr. No in 1962, From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice and Diamonds Are Forever followed,” the makers posted on Twitter. James Bond film producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara were among the first to mourn the demise of the iconic actor.
Connery was raised under difficult financial circumstance in the slums of Edinburgh. It was his his hobby of bodybuilding that helped him get a job in movies. Before acting, he worked as a coffin polisher, milkman and lifeguard.
