Washington DC: Amid the violent clash between Donald Trump supporters and police officers in Washington DC, US congress has formally certified Joe Biden’s election win on Thursday.
Lawmakers from the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives were met Wednesday in a joint season to clarify the electoral votes.
Democratic party candidate Joe Biden had claimed victory last year in the US election that was held on 3 November.
According to reports, Biden claimed 306 electoral votes, defeating his Republican President Donald Trump who managed to win 232.
Biden will take oath as the 46th President of the United States on 20 January 2021.
