Vladimir Putin To Quit As Russia’s President: Report

Moscow: A report has claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin may leave his position due to his health concern. Putin, who has been suffering from Parkinson’s disease for a long time, may retire from politics in January next year.

New York Post has claimed that Putin’s girlfriend Alina Kabaeva and his family members are pushing him to leave politics and focus on health. According to reports, Putin has been seen recently exhibiting symptoms of the disease.

‘Putin has a family and a deep influence on the Russian president. In January, Putin can hand over power to someone else. The president is likely battling Parkinson’s and recent pictures have shown signs of his illness”, said Moscow-based political scientist Valery Solovei to a British newspaper.

She also claimed that a new president will be appointed soon and will be guided by him or her to rule Russia under Vladimir Putin.

Parkinson is a progressive nervous system disorder that affects movement, often including tremors.

Putin, who has been in power since 2012 as President, recently made changes in the constitution to remain in power through 2036.Â
