Who Was Prince Azim Of Brunei? A Look At The Life Of Young Prince

Kuala Lumpur: Brunei’s Prince Haji ‘Abdul’ Azim passed away on Saturday. The crown prince, 38, was fourth-in-line to succeed to the throne of Brunei. Azim was the second born prince of Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah. The news of Azim’s demise took the nation by shock and the country announced 7-day national mourning. The reason for his death is yet to be cleared.

Who was Prince Haji ‘Abdul’ Azim of Brunei?

Azim was born on 29 July 1982. He took his educational degrees from International School Brunei, Raffles Institution, and Oxford Brookes University.

Prince Azim was known for his affection towards the autistic people. In 2013, in a popular speech at the 2nd ASEAN Autism Network (AAN) Congress, he urged that appropriate support be given to families with autistic family members.

Apart from charity, he also had his interests in the Hollywood movie industry. He had investments in the London-based film company Daryl Prince Productions, that produced You’re Not You.

The prince was reportedly a military school dropout. In 2008, he was sent to attend the nine-month officer training course at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, but he couldn’t complete it and dropped out after one week.
