Anwar Rebukes Hamzah for Criticizing Edited CNN Interview

Anwar Ibrahim has strongly criticized opposition leader Hamzah Zainudin for basing his criticism of the Prime Minister’s response to questions about Malaysia’s economy on an edited version of Anwar’s interview with CNN. Anwar urged Hamzah to watch the complete interview conducted by Christiane Amanpour.

“We have publicly shared the unedited interview with CNN, where I provided comprehensive answers. However, there are individuals with malicious intent who deliberately edited it to create the illusion that I did not address the question. I hope the honorable MP does not rely solely on the edited version but instead views the interview in its entirety,” Anwar stated during a session in the Dewan Rakyat.

Anwar’s comments were prompted by Hamzah’s query regarding Anwar’s inability to provide a satisfactory response regarding the Madani economy framework. Hamzah argued that due to Anwar’s perceived inability to give a sufficient answer, he felt compelled to reiterate the question in the lower house.
