Johor Barisan Nasional Election Operations director Onn Hafiz Ghazi today said that Ahmad Zahid Hamidi should step down from the post of Barisan Nasional chairman after the coalition’s poor performance in the 15th general election. He said Ahmad should immediately resign from the position.

Onn Hafiz, who is also Johor cgief minister said that Ahmad must step down as the party needs some changes considering many UMNO, MCA and MIC leaders of calibre and potential lost because BN was not ready to listen to the leaders at grassroots. “We are all have to acknowledge that a Malay political tsunami has occured, where the Malays have rejected UMNO. UMNO has fallen apart,” he said.
Onn further said that UMNO and BN only won nine parliamentary seats in Johor and not a single parliamentary seat in Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Melakm Kelantan and Terengganu.
