Bersatu Information Chief Wan Saiful Wan Jan reminded Ismail Sabri Yaakob that he needs to remember that he became PM because of Bersatu and not UMNO. He said the party’s support for him is conditional. Wan said despite Ismail being UMNO vice-president, the party wanted Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to become the PM. He added that it was Bersatu who nominated him for the PM’s post after Muhyiddin Yassin resigned.

Wan Saiful said that Bersatu’s conditional support for Ismail will be highlighted at ceramahs in the run-up to the Johor elections.
He said this at a Perikatan Nasional ceramah in Muar. He stated that just like his predecessor, Ismail should continue to ensure the welfare of the people.
Citing Muhyiddin Yassin as the best example, he said never before in history was a huge amount allocated for the welfare of people.
He further accused UMNO of bringing everyone down and only focused on grabbing power. He said UMNO did not even care about Ismail’s efforts to successfully administer the country.
