UMNO secretary-general Ahmad Maslan today said that Barisan Nasional leaders at any party level including its president does not need to resign from their posts after the coalition’s defeat in the 15th general election. He said that even though the coalition lost in election it still had a decisive say in the formation of unity government.

Ahmad Maslan said there is no need for resignations as BN self-reflect on what had happened. “If you want resignations, many will have to resign, there are more than 7,000 polling district centres throughout Malaysia, PDM leaders, Liasion chairman, youth leaders, women leaders and Puteri leaders too many people, “he said.
He further hoped that BN leadership including its chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi will be involved in the discussion of the new unity government Cabinet.
