Malaysia Records Over 4,000 Covid-19 Cases–Highest Since December 18, 2021

Malaysia on Friday reported a total of 4,046 new Covid-19 cases—the highest since 18 December 2021. The new number of Covid-19 cases brings the total number of infections in the country to 2,824,973. Selangor, with nearly 900 cases, remains the worst hit, followed by Kuala Lumpur (476), Johor (414), Kelantan (360), and Kedah (275). Malaysia also reported 22 deaths in 24 hours, taking the total number death toll to 31,853.

As of now, nearly 98 per cent of the country’s adult population has been fully vaccinated against the Coronavirus.

According to the government data, more than 78 per cent of people have been fully jabbed while over 43 per cent of the population has received the third dose against the Covid-19.

Meanwhile, the offsite PPVs will begin the booster dose vaccination drive for senior citizens from January 23.
