Covid-19: Sinovac For Children Available From Tomorrow

China made Coronavirus vaccine Sinovac will be offered to aged 5 to 11 children at the selected vaccination centres from Monday, 7 March. The Deputy Health Minister Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali has said that Sinovac will be administrated to children following the growing concerns over mRNA vaccines. The minister said that parents will also have the option to choose the vaccines for their children.

The minister advised that parents must check online (Ministry’s website) before reaching the PPV centres regarding the availability of vaccinations.

The Sinovac vaccine for children in Malaysia was approved last month in February.

Children across the country are being administrated Coronavirus jab under the Covid-19 National Immunisation Programme for Children (PICKids).

As of now more than 1 million children or over 28 per cent of the child population aged five to 11 have received at least one dose against Covid-19.

According to the health ministry, as of now at least 123,053 children aged 12 or below have been tested positive for Covid-19 in Malaysia.
