From Remote To Hill: Frontline Workers Take Vaccines To Far Off Places

Ministry of Health has expressed its pleasure to see the tireless efforts of frontline workers in order to fight against Covid-19 pandemic. Sharing the pictures on social media, the ministry said that the Orang Asli Mobile Team (PBOA) are reaching out to the isolated and hill areas to give the booster dose against Coronavirus. Recently, Cameron Highlands District Health Office had to walk three hours back and forth while carrying out the vaccination.

It said that five PBOA members had to walk as they travelled by four-wheel-drive vehicle from the Cameron Highlands District Health Office (PKD) in Tanah Rata for an hour only to Pos Menson.

State Health Department said that to reach Kampung Bah Renjis, they had to walk for an hour and 30 minutes with medical equipment and medicines through trails, ravines, hills and follow a bamboo bridge across a creek before reaching Kampung Bah Renjis.

The same route and time period were also taken on the way home after their task was completed.

The story of the sacrifices and challenges faced by the frontline workers was shared by the Pahang State Health Department (JKNP) through a statement on Friday.

According to the statement, the members involved left PKD Cameron Highlands at 7.30 am and arrived at Pos Menson an hour later.
