Ismail Asked To Withdraw His Statement Questioning King’s Pardon To Anwar

Prime Minister Ismail Sabri has been asked to take back his statement questioning the validity of King’s pardon of opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim. PKR legal bureau head Sivarasa Rasiah demanded Ismail to withdraw the statement and said that he should have checked his facts before raising the issue in public when it had been resolved in court already.

In a statement, Sivarasa said that Ismail should check his facts and read relevant court judgement, otherwise it is irresponsible of him to present the issue falsely as if there were no court judgements on it.

This comes after the royal pardon granted to Anwar Ibrahim, however, the question of validation has already been raised in high court and has been dismissed. Sivarasa said that at the time when Agong granted Anwar pardon he had already served 90% of his jail term.
