Communications and Multimedia Minister Annuar Musa today said that Prime Minister Ismail Sabri’ commitment of reducing the size of the cabinet if Barisan Nasional is elected to represent the people is a rational move and can be implemented. He clarified that Ismail’s last cabinet can be considered oversized as it was formed at a time of political instability.

In a statement, Annuar said, “The commitment given by Ismail Sabri now is that the post-election Cabinet will be smaller and that is something to be welcome.”
He said that given Ismail’s experience as Prime Minister he knows where he can cut to streamline duties and save on expenditure. Annuar further expressed confidence that Ismail will be able to do it.
This comes after Ismail in an interview committed that if BN is given the mandate and he is reappointed as the Prime Minister then he will have a smaller Cabinet.
