Johor Elections: Anwar “Sad” Over Clash With Syed Saddiq’s MUDA

PKR president Anwar Ibrahim has expressed his disappointment over Larkin seat clash with MUDA in the upcoming Johor state elections.
Citing the example of seat negotiation with PH and other coalition parties, Anwar said no problem arose because the decision was made in a spirit of solidarity.

PKR president Anwar Ibrahim said “We and PH have no problem, we negotiated during the meetings finally we abided by the spirit of camaraderies, but this did not happen in Larkin with MUDA, of course, it’s sad.”

He said this after attending a programme with the Malaysian Youth Council at the Port Dickson District and Land office today.

Six-cornered clashes over Larkin seat

There is a six cornered clash over the Larkin state seat, involving Rasid Abu Bakar of MUDA, Hairi Md Shah (Barisan Nasional), Dr Zamil Najwah Arbain (PKR), Zulkifli Bujang (Independent), and Mohamad Riadz Mohamad Hashim (Parti Pejuang Tanah Air).

Anwar’s reaction over the impact of clash with MUDA

Anwar Ibrahim said its the people who will assess the real position. He added that there is a need for a strong, consistent opposition that can neither be bribed nor bought.

Anwar on PH’ Menteri Besar candidate for Johor

When asked about PH’s chief minister candidate, Anwar said “The Menteri Besar candidate has not been determined, we want to ensure victory, there have been initial discussions but nothing serious. Recently, we discussed about the seats, and the joint strategy with DAP and Amanah.”

In the upcoming Johor state polls, DAP and Amanah are contesting under PH’s logo, while PKR will go ahead with its own logo.
