Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin has urged those Covid-19 patients who are undergoing home quarantine to give daily health updates in order to reduce the brought-in-dead cases. He said by doing this proper medical attention would be given on time if needed. He reminded that the MySejahtera app has a daily health assessment that was put in place to identify those undergoing home quarantine and who require medical assistance.Â

Khairy urges patients under home quarantine to take health assessment
In a press conference, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said, “To all Covid-19 positive patients undergoing self-quarantine, please always fill up your status using the health assessment tool twice a day. This allowes us to constantly monitor if you have shortness of breath, low oxygen levels or a continues high fever, these are all early warning signs. When we get these warning signs, the Covid-19 Assessment Centres will call them immediately.”
He said this after visiting the CAC at the Simpang Renggam Health Clinic in Johor.
Khairy’s advice to positive patient family members
In a statement, he asked family members of patients undergoing home quarantine not to wait and bring them to the CAC immediately if their condition deteriorates. He said that although the ministry was aiming for 70 per cent, only 55 per cent of patients under home quarantine are submitting their daily assessments.Â
He said the twice-daily check-ins is to allow health authorities to catch signs of deterioration in patients that they might not recognise.Â
The country has so far recorded 32,634 deaths due to Covid since the pandemic first began. Out of 32,634, 6,673 were brought-in-dead cases.Â
