Malaysia Sees 2,842 New Covid-19 Cases In 24 Hours

Malaysia on Monday reported a total of 2,842 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, a slight increase from yesterday. According to the Health DG Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, the latest figure brings the cumulative number in the country to 2,769,886. While yesterday, the country saw at least 28 deaths due to Covid-19, taking the total number of fatalities to 31,560.

According to the government data, Malaysia still has more than 39,000 active cases of Covid-19.

 

As of now, more than 78 per cent of the country’s population have completely vaccinated, while more than 98 per cent of the adult population have received both doses of Covid-19.

 

Amid the fear of the Omicron variant, more than 20 per cent of Malaysians have received a booster dose of Covid-19 as of Monday.
