Malaysian USB Inventor Appeals Against Jail Sentence In Taiwan

Phison Electronics Corp founder and chairman Pua Khein-Seng, who invented the pen drive, is seeking an appeal against his two-year jail sentence ordered by Taiwan Court. TheĀ 47-year-old was found guilty of violating the country’s Securities and Exchange Act and was sentenced to two years in prison by the Taiwan district court.

It is believed that he struck a special trade deal to counter stiff competition in 2008, when he was in charge of several companies. Pua is seeking to appeal his October 29 conviction for the same case that first emerged in August 2016.Ā
